A day in a life of a home of a child in a informal settlement
My name is Zoe I live in a shack in khayelitsha and I am in a informal settlement. Yesterday I went to school an there is only 30 chairs in a class and 60 kids in a class I sat on the floor and on the mud and trash . And my friends bullied me a lot and then I did not end up with friends it was terrible. I was sick from all of the mud and trash and I cough out blood it was distrusting. I went to the doctor and waited in a 3000 people queue it was horrible there were 3000 people very sick and others can get me sick and there is only one doctor or nurse.
So I returned to khayelitsha and it was 5 o’clock and I growed veggies. I was dark at night and there was a lamp I was in grade 5 I needed to study so I studded under the lamp where there is electricity and I studied. I woke up at 3 in the morning there was a fire I was scared but luckily my shack was fire proof but I still need evacuate now so I left everything my home is now gone but the firefighters came and saved our homes and they did but some of our houses are still burnt but it is reasonable to use.
The bad thing is that the taps are on the the road by the street and if there is another fire it will be better so they can solve the fire. They have no stationary for the children to draw and colour in with with is not expanding their minds to do other stuff in there little town. This is a big one we use paraffin to cook our food which causes the fires but we need to be careful. My sister is in the hospital now and she has cut her leg open from a peace of steal and she has a very sore leg. She needs to wait in 3000 people queue it was so bad there was no bandages and that I was so scared I was shivering. 2 weeks later I was sad we have no field no proper buildings and no proper clothes It was sad.
I look at the opposite me with the children with a white dress and the boy with a pear of jeans and I white T-shirt and I looked down and wondered what happened to me I have no food no proper clothes I was crying to my mom. Now I am going to tell a story now when I was in the hospital there was only one room per person I was waiting for 5 hours I was sore at that moment.
Thank you Zoƫ! You have many ideas, but your writing lacks editing and I would write more simple sentences with a little more cohesiveness.
