A day in a life of a home of a child in a informal settlement
My name is Zoe I live in a shack in khayelitsha and I am in a informal settlement. Yesterday I went to school an there is only 30 chairs in a class and 60 kids in a class I sat on the floor and on the mud and trash . And my friends bullied me a lot and then I did not end up with friends it was terrible. I was sick from all of the mud and trash and I cough out blood it was distrusting. I went to the doctor and waited in a 3000 people queue it was horrible there were 3000 people very sick and others can get me sick and there is only one doctor or nurse. So I returned to khayelitsha and it was 5 o’clock and I growed veggies. I was dark at night and there was a lamp I was in grade 5 I needed to study so I studded under the lamp where there is electricity and I studied.
